exacqVision Case Management Sequence Evidence Export for Easy Investigations

$

0

exacqVision Enterprise VMS software gives users the ability to easily organize bookmarks into cases. Also with the case management feature, exacqVision users can export important clips from overlapping time intervals on multiple cameras into a single file to completely show the entire incident occurring in chronological order. This simplifies evidence of an event into one relevant video clip to provide to law enforcement.

For example, if a company was tracking a person of interest from the point they entered a facility, throughout the store and then into the parking lot, they would need to provide one video excerpt of the entire scene from start to finish.

Case Management

Export & Authenticate the Video Evidence Easily

After clipping together all of the video evidence together into one sequence, users can export the clip as an AVI, MOV or JPEG file. Furthermore, users can authenticate the video clip to ensure it is the original evidence and has not been tampered with for law enforcement. Security personnel have a significant role in presenting authentic video evidence. This exacqVision feature gives users a way to easily create authentic videos that will be upheld as evidence in the court of law.

Case Management Example
This sophisticated case management export feature allows exacqVision Enterprise users the ability to consolidate their relevant video evidence into one exportable clip for easier investigations.

exacqVision 7.6, the latest release of exacqVision video management system (VMS) software, is now available from Exacq.

Software Downloads
Watch this video to see the exacqVision complete security solution and new features.

exacqVision 7.6 highlights:

Improved Client Video Performance

The exacqVision client will leverage hardware H.264 decoding if present to improve the Windows, Linux and Mac client performance. Hardware acceleration increases H.264 decoding performance. To enable client hardware acceleration, go to client options and click the Calibrate button. After running the calibration, you will receive a recommended level of GPU decoding, which you can adjust with the slider bar.

The amount of performance boost hardware decoding provides will vary by the GPU resources available on the machine. For a Broadwell i7 CPU, CPU usage decreased by up to 50% for 16 camera layouts and rendered frames per second increased by 30% for 48 camera layouts.

Area Zoom

In live view, users can utilize area zoom for pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. This allows a user to draw a box around a specific region to instantly optically zoom in to see greater detail on objects or people in the distance. Simply hold control and left click to draw the box around the area to zoom in on. This new feature is available for Axis and Illustra PTZ cameras used within exacqVision.

exacqVision area_zoom

Second Reviewer

For European customers, exacqVision has added the ability to configure enhanced privacy restrictions requiring a second reviewer to view the live video or review recorded video. Add the option to require two people to enter passwords for live, search and export actions. By default this feature is disabled. To enable this feature, contact Technical Support for a special configuration key to import on the Systems page, security tab.

Mapping

Within the maps page, configure a new map, add an icon and map image. Right click the camera on the map and select the new option Show Field of View. Drag the field of view to cover the appropriate area. The new functionality also allows the field of view color to be updated to a preset list of more than 10 color options. Simply right click and select Field of View Color to change the color so it appears better on the screen. Drag and drop maps and child maps anywhere on the list.

exacqVision Mapping_Field of View Icons

Windows 10 Support

The exacqVision client and server now support Windows 10.

Faster Discovery & Camera Reconnection

The exacqVision client can now automatically discover exacqVision servers on the network. Instead of having to manually type in the IP address range and brute force scan through each address, the client will automatically scan when the client is opened. Clicking the Find button on the find systems tab will initiate a rescan to find new servers.

When a network outage occurs, exacqVision will reconnect to the camera. The IP reconnection interval has been updated to reconnect every 15 seconds for up to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, it will attempt to reconnect every 60 seconds for up to 1 hour. After 1 hour, it will go back to searching every 5 minutes. This reconnection is available for Illustra, Axis and Arecont Vision cameras.

Exacq Mobile Search

Exacq mobile_searchExacq Mobile has enhanced search functionality. Users can quickly select a pre-defined search range from 1 minute to 30 minutes or enter a custom time search to set your own time perimeters by clicking the search icon in the upper right hand corner. In the custom time search, users can easily select the hour and minutes from the clock icon. Select up to 4 cameras to view search results.
The new toolbar layout offers easier navigation for layouts, VideoPush, Cycling through cameras and searching. VideoPush allows you to push live video to any other client. The new Cycle Through Cameras icon takes you to the next two cameras on the list. To cycle through cameras, you can also do a two-finger swipe to the left or right to navigate to cameras.

Enterprise System Manager (ESM) Remote Updates

Administrators can now perform software updates. The improved available versions page provides ESM users with quick identification of the current versions of exacqVision clients, web services and ESM itself installed across the entire environment. The Available Versions page has been updated to the Running Versions page. It shows new headers for versions, product, platform name, count and actions. Receive notifications at the top when newer versions are available.
Enterprise-System-Manager_version
Users can update all exacqVision clients and web services connected to ESM directly from one interface. To schedule an update, click on the calendar icon at the top next to Web Services. Simply adjust servers to update in the servers to schedule drop down menu and then select the servers you would like updated. In the additional data, you can add notes. For ESM to update itself, there is a new light bulb icon in the footer. Clicking the light bulb will allow you to schedule a system update for ESM. Users will see a message informing them the system will be going down for an update.

exacqVision Licensing Basics
Software licensing can be complicated, but exacqVision has made VMS software licensing easy. exacqVision is licensed exclusively on a per-camera basis. Client software, web server, mobile, and other products do not require any licensing, and exacqVision can still be used even after a license expires. exacqVision requires one license file per video recorder which is unique to the MAC address of the recorder. Software installation or restarting is not required when a new license is installed.

There are three levels of exacqVision software: Start, Professional and Enterprise.

exaexacqVision_start_VMS software_iconcqVision Start VMS software is typically used for small, single installation sites. Start allows users to connect up to 16 analog and 16 IP cameras per server.

exacqVision_professional_VMS software_iconexacqVision Professional gives mid-sized end users a robust, easy-to-use VMS software. Professional VMS software allows users to connect up to 64 analog cameras and 128 IP cameras.

Exacq Integrates with the New Sensormatic Synergy Series EAS System

$

exacqVision is now integrated with Sensormatic Synergy Series electronic article surveillance (EAS) system. Together, exacqVision and Synergy EAS provide retail customers with an interconnected solution to improve loss prevention and minimize theft within one interface.

Synergy Detection SystemSensormatic-Synergy-Series-integration

The recently launched Sensormatic Synergy Series provides powerful capabilities, enabling AM detection, RFID item level reporting, traffic and video surveillance into one networked connection system.

Synergy offers a sleek and modern design to blend nicely into the retail environment. Ambient lighting and alarm cadence can be configured to distinguish different types of alarm events.

Benefits

Theft costs global retailers $128 billion per year. This includes anything from employee theft and administrative errors to shoplifting and organized retail crime. Combining video into the EAS system gives retailers better insight into what is occurring in their stores and enables greater loss prevention. Users can view real-time video corresponding with alarms or search recorded video after an event occurs for further visual verification and investigation.

  • Faster shoplifting investigations with video linked to EAS alarms
  • Search previous EAS system alarms to visually verify shoplifting occurrences
  • Reduce false EAS alarms with offline deactivator notifications
  • Combat organized retail crime (ORC) with integrated foil detection card triggers within exacqVision. Integrated foil detection cards detect foil-lined bags or clothing when they enter the store.
  • Jammer Detection – Set up triggers within exacqVision to record video based on an EAS pedestal jammer detection alarm. Shoplifters often use transmitters to jam the EAS system. Synergy detects the presence of a jammer and triggers an exacqVision alarm, giving store personnel video of the jammer suspect.
  • Power Save – Synergy pedestals consume about 90% less power when they are in power save mode. Transmitters will be powered down when no customer traffic is present for a specified time without degrading performance.

While some college students are traveling or working on their tans, others are embarking on an internship. This summer at Exacq we welcome four interns to our 12-week hands-on program.

And by intern, we do not mean coffee maker, our summer intern program gives students the opportunity to apply their classroom training and specialized skills to real world projects.

Exacq Interns On The Line

Meet Our Interns:

Flynn LeMonnier

Purdue University

Flynn is working with our product integration team this summer. He’s an electrical engineering major and has participated in audio engineering and acoustical club, Purdue Bitcoin Club and WCCR Radio. Flynn chose to intern for Exacq because of the positive interaction he received from our Exacq employees. He appreciates how we train our interns, and how we don’t make him do the “grunt work.” Flynn also enjoys the hands on nature of his work, giving him a real feel of how a career in electrical engineering works. Flynn currently plans to pursue a career in electrical engineering after graduation in the spring of 2018.

Luc Talatinian

University of Dayton

Luc is working with our web/mobile team, and is computer engineering major. Luc is a local to Fishers Indiana, and alumni from Fishers High School. Luc has a fondness for the outdoors and participates in the Outdoor Adventure Club. Luc chose to intern at Exacq because he enjoyed the positive professional culture within Exacq, as well as experience new technologies and frameworks outside of his current curriculum at Dayton. After Luc graduates, he wants to continue to work in the field of software, where he can work with multiple different technologies and see the results of his work. Luc plans to graduate in the spring of 2017.

Mark Brooks

Purdue University

Mark is working with our Enterprise team. He is computer engineering major and a member of the Purdue Water Polo team, as well as participating in Purdue Web Development. Mark has always wanted to work in the field of software development. He knew Exacq would provide him with the training necessary to pursue his dream. Mark also wants to have a professional software project under his belt before graduation, and knew Exacq could provide him with the best opportunity to achieve his goal.  Mark plans to graduate in the winter of 2017.

Tim Morris

Franklin College

Tim is working with our Marketing team. He is a Graphic Design major and a member of the Franklin College Football team. He is also the treasurer for his fraternity: Lambda Chi Alpha. Tim chose to work for Exacq, because of the positive culture of the company as well as the opportunity to work professionally as a graphic designer. Tim wanted to be challenged to do actual work for the company, and knew that Exacq could provide him with that challenge. Tim plans to continue to pursue professional work as a graphic designer after he graduates in the spring of 2017.

We are excited to build future talent and foster innovation this summer with our interns! Welcome to Exacq. If you’re interested in working for Exacq Technologies, check out our complete list of job openings.
